Our kiosk is built in a handsome stainless steel cabinet with a touch screen to provide interactive information to help your visitors learn more about your demonstration garden or retail nursery.

With a GardenSoft kiosk, your visitors will be able to:

1. View a map of your garden and then touch a region on the map for photographs of that area.
2. Touch the plants in the garden photographs to reveal their names and to display plant picture closeups and plant growing information.
3. Tour through garden photographs by categories.
4. Search for plants by name, either botanical, common, or partial name.
5. Search for plants by cultural, design or physical characteristics.
6. Select a group of plants for printouts right at the kiosk.
7. Learn about water conservation.
8. View a revolving slide show promoting the garden or nursery while the kiosk is idle.

In 1999, the Castaic Lake Water Agency bought our very first Garden and Plant Kiosk.

Later in 1999, Castaic Lake Water Agency received the ACWA Theodore Roosevelt Environmental Award for Excellence in Natural Resources Management for the Kiosk.

The award was given to the Agency for conserving natural resources in two ways:

1. Kiosk users save water by using water-conserving plants.
2. Kiosk users take printouts of just the plants in which they're interested so little paper is wasted. (In previous years, visitors would take a 30-page handout that listed all the plants available in the Conservatory Garden.)
