The current version of PlantMaster is 6.7 if you live or work in California. If you do NOT have the 6.7 version, we encourage you to upgrade to it. It is a database of commonly used plants in California, including natives.

Advantages of the PlantMaster 6.7 Version

Only 1 CD to load- fast and easy to install. All plants have at least photo; many have more than one photo. Improved plant data. A photo management tool makes it easy to add, delete or change of order of pictures. Add plants to your project from the ePlant screen (large viewing area for photos and key info displayed on 1 screen). This was not possible with previous versions. The name of the project is visible at the top of the screen so you know which project you are working on. The plant code bug in the 6.0 version has been fixed; the plant codes will appear in the plant list spreadsheet. The bug in the setup section- maintenance tab has been fixed. When you delete an instruction in the maintenance tab section, it does NOT exit the program any more. Every plant has a description. Software training available for $50 per session; this is private training, not group or a classroom setting and takes about 1.5 hours. You need dsl or cable modem internet connection to have a live training session.

Disadvantages of Upgrading to the 6.7 version

Users with 5.5 National and 5.7 versions CAN migrate their projects and therefore, any new data, into the 6.7 version, with detailed instructions. Users with 5.5 Regional and previous versions CANNOT migrate their data into the 6.7 version. Users with the 6.0 version CAN transfer projects and therefore, new data, into the 6.7 version. Pictures added into the 6.0 version must be re-added to the 6.7 version. However, the new photo management tool makes this process easy and quick. Some users may consider the limited palette of plants (3,000) to be a disadvantage. Please be assured that you can still add new plants to 6.7!

The current version of GardenWorks is 3.0. If you do not own this version, we encourage you to upgrade to the present version.

Advantages of GardenWorks 3.0 version

Expanded and more beautiful library of photos Easier navigation with large blue buttons Easy-to-use hotlinking to PlantMaster photos and GardenWorks photos Software training available via internet for $50. The training usually takes 1.5 hours.

Disadvantages of upgrading to the GardenWorks 3.0 version

If you have added your own photos to any previous version, they will not migrate to the 3.0 version. You would need to re-add them to 3.0. Any data you may have edited in your version would not migrate to the 3.0 version.
